It lights up the sky for miles, calling in airplanes and cars and riders and fans to the greatest show in snowboarding. Yep, they’ve got the Buttermilk scene glowing like a Cirque Du Soleil circus tent tonight—stadium lights, blue and red glows all around, grandstands, columns of fake fire lining the halfpipe, the full deal. Final grooming and build outs are being made before practice for Winter X Games 13 officially starts tomorrow.
As for the DC team, they’re already all here. By here, we mean the mega-digs DC has hired for the week to lodge the team. Not some party palace that’ll bump ‘til 6 in the morning; a quiet hideout right in the heart of Aspen/Snowmass for the team to chill. Kimmy Fasani, Molly Aguirre and Lizzy Beerman arrived early in the day, taking it upon themselves to hit the grocery, get some goods, and build a lovely nest for the rest of the team. Well done, ladies.
But seriously, the place is sick. Snowboarders weren’t meant to live like this… in times like these.
For now, our crew chills deep and psyches for tomorrow while Torstein bumps Lil’ Wayne on his new Kicker portable box and Chas cracks jokes about his newly-found biceps.
With lots of slopestyle and half pipe action from T.Rice, Torstein, Chas, Kimmy, Molly and Lizzy on the menu for the next few days, stay tuned to snow.dcshoes.com. We’ll continue with daily updates, plus serve up behind the scenes videos when the opportunities arise. Until tomorrow…
