DC would like to congratulate am rider Chas Guldemond on earning the Burton Global Open Series Championship Title when he placed first in the Slopestyle event at the Burton U.S. Open on Sunday, March 22nd. Chas’ winning first run consisted of a Nose blunt 270 out to a Nosepress Backside 180 out to a Switch Backside 900, to a Backside 1260, followed by a Cab 900 to a Backside Rodeo. The run earned him the top score of 94.5, as well as the series championship title, and a total of $145,000 in combined prize purses.
Regarding his title win Chas said, “I’ve worked really hard this year to do well in the tours, and to get to this point. I’ve gotten to go to a bunch of great places and meet some amazing people. It’s all paid off today and it feels awesome!”
Clearly it has been a good season for Chas, who also finished the year in the number 2 spot on the TTR World Tour. Most recently he took a double win at the Nissan X Trail Asian Open at the end of February, when he placed first in both the Slopestyle and the Halfpipe events. Beforehand, Chas earned third place in Slopsestyle at the Winter Dew Tour Northstar in Tahoe in late February, and took second in the Quarterpipe event at the Nissan X Trail Jam in December 2008.
