Last weekend DC team riders Chas Guldemond and Torstein Horgmo were all over the podiums at Honda Sessions in Vail, Colorado. In slopestyle, Torstein took 2nd place and Chas took 3rd. Chas upped his podium count by winning the rail jam, and got next level by pulling a backside 1440 on the slopestyle course, the first one ever in competition!
Things got hot during Saturday night's slopestyle literally. Honda Sessions goes off at night with burst of flames as riders hit each kicker. Great balls of fire explode as they send it on the four-jump line (50, 60, 70, and finally 80 footer) and hit the rail set-up at the bottom. With a scene like that, Honda Sessions is one of the most exciting contests to watch on the TTR World Tour.
Torstein's 2nd place consisted of a cab 900, frontside 1080, backside 900, and a switch backside 1260. Chas' 3rd place run saw a switch backside 900, frontside 720 tail, Cab 900, backside 1260, a McTwist in the bowl, and a 270-on 270-off on the down box. His backside 1440 came on the last jump of the last run of the day... that's four full rotations, folks!
Congrats to Torstein and Chas on the great results at Honda Sessions!
