That's right, Winter X Games 13 is almost here! It's going down January 22-25, 2009, once again taking over the normally serene and beautiful Aspen, Colorado for a few days of mayhem.
Members of the DC Snow team have earned prestigious invites to the center-stage contest.. here's the break-down:
In Snowboard Big Air look for serious attacks from Travis Rice and
Torstein Horgmo. Travis has been the classic threat in big air, taking contest wins worldwide. Torstein, last year's Gold medal winner in the event, has been the hot young buck on the contest scene as of late, even taking first place in the Big Air event at the X-Trail Jam in Tokyo last month - his switch back 10 is pretty hard to beat.
Over in Men's Slopstyle, watch out for Chas Guldemond plus Torstein and Travis. All three of the guys are certainly serious contenders in the event, each with his own unique bag-o-tricks to surprise fans and hopefully the judges. It'll be interesting to see what goes down in this one.
On the women's snowboarding front, Raewyn Reid will be making her 1st Winter X appearance as she does work on the slopestyle course. Kimmy Fasani joins her in that event. Lizzy Beerman, one of new heaters from the Stratton, Vermont camp, will be back to try her hand in Halfpipe.
